Laura Gill on June 10, 2026, shared a brief history of the Marine Mammal Center’s work in rescue, rehabilitation, release, research, and education, and then take a deeper dive into the stories of some of their most common patients.

Laura is the Public Programs Manager at The Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito where she leads public program development and implementation such as interpretive resources, tours, and experiences. She will share a brief history of the Marine Mammal Center’s work in rescue, rehabilitation, release, research, and education, and then take a deeper dive into the stories of some of their most common patients, including sea lions, elephant seals, and harbor seals. 


During her presentation she explored the challenges these animals face, how they are cared for at the Center, and how people can get involved to help protect marine mammals and our shared ocean environment.
